This introductory ELT methodology session concentrates on basic principles and contemporary tendencies in teaching English as a foreign language. Some of the key issues addressed include the creation of conditions for language learning, lesson design, adaptive lesson delivery, as well as the monitoring and assessment of students’ language development. Drawing on the participants’ own experience as language learners, the theoretical concepts will be illustrated by practical examples.
